Jean Jargon | The Rise

This is the distance from the crotch area to the top of the waistband, which determines where the jeans sit on the hips and waist.  Different rises suit different people obviously, so make sure you choose the best one for you.

Low rise jeans generally have a measurement of  5 to 8 inches from the waistband to the crotch. They sit on the hips, and well below the belly button. This rise is best for people with a smaller frame. Curvier ladies may want to avoid these, that’s where muffin tops come from ladies!

Midrise jeans are generally 9 – 11 inches from crotch to waistband. They sit around the belly button area and rise to just below the waist. This rise is great for curvier ladies. They sit in the right places and work well with your figure.

High rise are jeans that sit at the waist and above the belly button. The measurement is about 12 inches or more. These jeans are brilliant for those who are taller and slimmer. Shorter people want to avoid these because they can shorten you even more!
